Share externally without losing control.
The challenge
Sharing with clients and co-counsel too often falls back on unsecured email attachments and consumer file-sharing tools, outside any governance.
The solution
Generate governed share links with expiration dates, permissions, password protection, and a full audit trail, keeping external collaboration inside firm governance.
In the iManage Next Gen Platform, select the document you want to share and choose the option to Share Document.
Invite your external recipient by entering their email address and setting access levels.
Share documents with anyone outside your organization, including outside counsel or third-party contacts who are not managed users in the platform.
Add an expiry date of up to 365 days, and include a personal message the recipient will see in their invitation email.
Notify the recipient with a personal message, and ensure access ends automatically without any manual follow-up.
Send the invitation. The recipient receives an email with the collaboration link and your message, and can open or edit the document directly without needing a platform account.
Remove friction from external collaboration without compromising security or requiring third parties to be provisioned as managed users.
Monitor access by clicking on security from the right-click menu or the toolbox menu. The access column stays up to date.
Your team always knows which documents are in external circulation, with full visibility at a glance.
Monitor sharing status from the document timeline. Hovering over the indicator shows a tooltip confirming the document is shared externally. Stop sharing at any time, by clicking 'stop sharing' from the right-click menu or the status column.
Remove external access quickly with the click of a couple of buttons.
