The challenge
When a review spans multiple documents, the answers to consistent questions are spread across individual outputs. Bringing that information together to compare positions, spot patterns, and identify what needs attention takes time that could be spent on the work itself.
The solution
Tabular Review structures the output of your Playbooks and Question Lists into a single table, placing every document's answers side by side so the review becomes a comparison, not a sequence. Selections made in the table carry directly into Ask iManage, so follow-up questions can be scoped to exactly the documents that need them.
Open Tabular Review from the next-gen iManage platform and choose 'New table'.
Start by building a new table from scratch, add the documents you want to feature on your table.
The table opens with one row per document and one column per question, giving you the full review in a single structured view.
Adjust the table layout to suit the review. Select the settings icon to reorder columns by dragging them into the sequence that fits your workflow, show or hide individual columns to focus on what matters, or reset to the default layout at any point.
Your column arrangement is saved per browser, so it persists across sessions without needing to be reconfigured each time.
With your documents loaded in the table, select + Add from the top toolbar and choose Question List. For example, select your saved MSA Review Question List from the menu and confirm.
The platform runs each question across all five documents simultaneously, populating a new column for every question so results sit side by side for direct comparison.
You can copy the link to each of the documents, click view to preview a document or click any box and 'see more' to expand the responses.
Open Ask iManage. Use this to ask a targeted follow-up such as "Which of these agreements has the strictest termination clause?" without broadening the scope beyond the documents already in review.
The answer is scoped to your table - no wider search, no irrelevant results, just a direct comparison across the documents already in review.
